Senior Living Homes, LLC, founded in 2017 by Anne Porter, RN, was created to redefine senior living by offering an alternative that blends the best of senior community living. With a master's degree in healthcare administration and an extensive career of dedicated experience (both in clinical and administrative roles), Anne’s vison is to provide a nurturing environment that supports the individuality and well-being of each person. Our home is designed to foster close-knit relationships and a family-like atmosphere, making the transition to senior living as seamless as possible.

The home is thoughtfully designed to offer a comfortable communal living style that feels like family. So Many Amenities
The monthly lease at Senior Living Homes, LLC offers a completely decorated residence that includes all utilities, cable, house phone, internet, washing machine and dryer, security, interior and exterior maintenance, common groceries, and household products for everyone to use. It also includes:
Six private bedrooms furnished with a bed, dresser, nightstand, television, large closet, linens, toilettes. You can also bring your own furnishings.
Two completely furnished kitchens include dishes, pans, dishwasher, stove, and refrigerators.
Dining areas — one private and one communal.
Two large living areas with a fireplace and television.
Handicapped accessible — all doors, hallways, walk-in shower, tub, and chairlift.
Our Model
Senior Living Homes, LLC is delighted to offer tenants an innovative experience that blends independence and community senior living. A completely furnished home in a quiet residential neighborhood in Des Moines. The monthly fee includes everything to move in today. Senior communal life brings peace of mind to both the tenant and their families. In our model our close-knit, intimate setting, tenants can thrive, build strong friendships, and live life at their own comfortable pace.
Senior Living Homes, LLC embraces a shared-care model; tenants are encouraged to maintain and utilize their current case managers, nurses, homecare, hospice and/or caregivers. This ensures a continuum of individualized care, if needed, with people they know and trust as well as helping to ease the transition to their new home for both the senior and their families.
Multiple dining areas are available, including one with sliding doors for a private dining experience or a cozy spot to meet. Enjoy flexible dining—choose what and when you’d like to eat. We provide all meals and snacks, with the kitchen open at all times. Feel free to add any food requests to the shopping list!
There are multiple televisions to enjoy your favorite show or enjoy listening/singing along to music, card and board games, puzzles, exercising and more.
Delight in the views of a beautiful yard frequented by deer, rabbits, and birds, all seen in a peaceful residential neighborhood.

Our region has been needing an option like Senior Living Homes for quite a while. Many seniors don’t require the services of a formal long-term care facility, yet need more attention than available in assisted living settings. Additionally, those places, though sometimes swanky in decor, have lots of residents in close quarters. They can’t help but feel institutionalized no matter how pretty they are — since they are institutions. Group home living offers the benefits of a true home environment in a regular house in a regular neighborhood. The ambiance is simpler. They can smell the dinner cooking and help fold laundry if they choose.

I enjoy coming to work and be able to do things on the residence time depending on what kind of day they’re having. The one-on-one time is not rushed like it would be in a nursing home setting. Choosing the right senior living option can be challenging. Senior Living Homes, LLC is a true home, not a community or facility. Our small, intimate setting offers companionship, socialization, safety, affordability, and physical and mental stimulation.
Center for Disease Control estimates the fall risk to be 50% lower in a home-like setting as the tenant does not have to walk as far for activities. They also support less exposure to illness as less people in the home.
